Frequently-Asked Questions

Are your home care services just for seniors?

No. We provide services for ages 2+ with a wide range of diagnoses. Roughly half our clients are under the age of 21.

Are nursing homes less expensive than having caregivers come to your home?

Rarely. Nursing home costs have skyrocketed in recent years, in some cases to twice the cost of home health care agencies. A-1 can provide the tailored, consistent, compassionate care you need from the comfort of home, without the costly personnel overhead of a nursing home.

Can a caregiver come for just a few hours a week to give me a break?

Yes. Family caregivers face tremendous strain, and it’s an honor to let you rest and recharge after caring for your loved one. From a few hours a week to full-time care, we can tailor a care schedule that works for you and your family.

Can I feel safe having a stranger coming into my home?

Yes. Our caregivers are bonded, insured, and committed to strict standards of professional competency, confidentiality, and ethics.

When hiring caregivers, we conduct lengthy applicant interviews, confirm credentials and references, and run extensive background checks through the following:

  • Applicable licensing agencies
  • The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation
  • System for Award Management (SAM)
  • Office of Inspector General (OIG)
  • Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Abuser Registry

What’s more, A-1 caregivers are trained to respect your privacy, your belongings, and your wishes to ensure your comfort level. Being in your home is a privilege we don’t take lightly!
